BERKELEY, Calif. - The Utah women's basketball team moves on in the WNIT to face California in the second round on Tuesday, March 23, at 7:00 p.m. PT (8:00 p.m. MT). Radio is available at KALL 700 AM. A live video feed can be found at the link above, courtesy of Cal's website.
A late rally lifted Utah over Saint Mary's in the first round, 66-53. Taryn Wicijowski led Utah with 21 points.
California (19-13, 11-7 Pac-10) defeated UC Davis in overtime, 74-69, in its first round game. Alexis Gray-Lawson leads Cal with 17.5 points per game. She missed the Bears first round game with a concussion. Gennifer Brandon is pulling down a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game.
Utah is 4-4 all-time against Cal, but the two teams have not played since the 1992-93 season. The Utes lost that game in Salt Lake City, 74-59.
