With the start to the women's basketball season just around the corner, UtahUtes.com will be spotlighting the members of the women's basketball team in `Getting to Know.' Today's spotlight is sophomore Michelle Plouffe.
What is your favorite basketball memory?
Playing on the Canadian Junior National Team this past summer and beating the USA for the first time in our history!! Booya!
What is your favorite sport besides basketball?
Volleyball
What do you like to do when you are not playing basketball?
Sleep, eat, and hang out with friends!
Do you have a nickname?
Plouffe, Plouffey, Meesh.
Why did you choose Utah?
I had fun on my visit and loved the coaches and girls on the team.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?
My mom and older sister - both are strong women and have been through things that have made them stronger. I love them so much.
My favorite thing about Salt Lake City is:
The mountains!
The teammate I most admire is who, and why?
I admire everyone for something. Everyone is different in their own way, and I love it!
What do you like best about Coach Levrets?
His sense of humor.
What are your goals for this year?
To win the conference tournament and go to the NCAA Tournament.
What are your pregame superstitions?
Just get there on time or early!!
What is your major and what do you want to do after you graduate?
Communications is my major. I want to start my own business and help others be successful.
