Utah advances to the MWC finals for the seventh time in the MWC's 12-year history and will look to claim its fourth title.
Utah snapped a four-game losing streak against BYU with the win.
Utah and BYU have met in the MWC Tournament seven times, more than any two teams in the conference. Utah improved to 4-3 against BYU in the tournament.

The No. 5 seed upset the No. 1 seed for the second time in six tries. The only other time the No. 5 seed upset the top seed was when BYU beat Utah in the 2003 semifinals.
