SALT LAKE CIT - The Utah women's basketball team closes out its regular season schedule on Saturday at UNLV, beginning at 3:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. MT).
Utah began its stretch run on Wednesday, after Iwalani Rodrigues' free throws in the final seconds lifted Utah to a 61-59 victory over Colorado State.
"March is a fun time of year because every game matters," interim head coach Anthony Levrets said. "It was nice to get a win on senior night and we hope to continue to build that momentum as we head into the conference tournament."
Utah (14-15, 7-8 MWC) will play on Tuesday in the first round of the 2011 Conoco Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships. The Utes will secure the four seed with a win over UNLV on Saturday, but can drop no further than the fifth seed with a loss.
UNLV has struggled this season, going 10-19 overall and 3-12 in conference play. The Rebels conference wins have come over Air Force, New Mexico, and Colorado State.
Utah defeated UNLV, 71-52, in their first meeting this season (Feb. 1). Michelle Plouffe scored a career-high 30 points for the Utes.
Utah leads the all-time series against UNLV, 28-13.
