SALT LAKE CITY - Utah women's basketball assistant coach Lana Sitterud, who has spent the last 10 years at Utah as a player and coach, has resigned to enter private business.
"We are going to miss Lana immensely," Utah head coach Anthony Levrets said. "She will always be part of the Utah basketball family, and we wish her the very best as she pursues her life in the private sector."
Over her 10 years, Utah made five NCAA Tournament appearances (including a 2006 Elite Eight appearance), won five Mountain West Conference regular-season titles and earned three MWC Tournament championships.
Sitterud spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach after working as a graduate assistant coach and Director of Operations during her first two years on staff. She was a student assistant in 2005-06 following her playing career.
Sitterud was a four-year player for the Utes from 2001-2005, serving as a team captain for three seasons. As a senior in 2004-05, Sitterud was named the MWC Defensive Player of the Year and was a third-team all-MWC selection.
