WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- A panel of Pac-12 women's basketball media members who cover the league selected Utah sophomores Michelle Plouffe and Taryn Wicijowski to the 2012 Media All-Pac-12 team, it was announced today by the conference.
Plouffe ranks in the top 10 in the Pac-12 standings in several categories, including ranking ninth in scoring (14.2) and seventh in rebounding (7.9). She is fifth in the conference in free-throw percentage (.793), fifth in defensive rebounds (6.0), sixth in blocked shots (1.3) and ninth in minutes played (33.5). Plouffe is tied for fourth in the conference with 10 double-doubles.
Wicijowski is fifth in the Pac-12 in rebounding (8.7) and is averaging 12.9 points per game (11th in the league). She is sixth in the conference in defensive rebounds (2.8) while ranking ninth in offensive rebounds (2.8). Wicijowski also ranks seventh in the conference in field-goal percentage (.498) and eighth in the conference in blocked shots (1.2). Her nine double-doubles rank seventh in the Pac-12.
The Pac-12 media awards are in their third year, and are in addition to the conference awards voted on by the league coaches, which will be announced on Tuesday. The panel included local and national media members.
