WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Utah forward Michelle Plouffe was named to the Media All-Pac-12 team, it was announced today by the conference office. Awards are voted on by a panel of Pac-12 women's basketball media members who cover the league.
Plouffe is fourth in the Pac-12 in scoring (16.7) and sixth in rebounding (8.3). She is also fifth in the conference in blocks (1.3). Plouffe has seven double-doubles and six 20-point games this year. She has 1,415 career points and needs just 17 points to reach the top 10 all-time in scoring at Utah.
Last season Plouffe was a 2012 Honorable Mention Associated Press All-America selection.
The Pac-12 media awards, in their fourth year, are in addition to the Conference awards voted on by the league coaches. The league awards which will be announced on Wednesday.
Utah (17-12, 8-10 Pac-12) opens the Pac-12 Tournament against Arizona on Thursday, March 7, at 2:30 p.m. PT.
