The Utah women's basketball team is currently on a 10-day trip through Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Follow the Utes travels as they travel through Scandinavia through player diaries and photos, which will be posted each day of their trip. Today's diary entry is from Chelsea Bridgewater.
Copenhagen is incredible! We've all been having the time of our lives! This morning I enjoyed a European breakfast, then Nakia and I went for a mid-morning walk. We found a beautiful park and spent some time watching the swans and ducklings. We found our way back to the hotel just in time for pre-game meal. The hotel served us some sensational fried chicken and pasta salad.
The time between pre-game meal and tipoff is typically spent napping. But instead a small group of us decided to rent kayaks and paddle through the canals. While we had to dodge a few ships and tour boats, everyone managed to stay on top of the kayaks throughout our entire excursion. This was a relief, considering the water temperature.
Our group hustled back to the hotel, hopped on the bus, and we headed to the game. Our opponents were a combination of two professional teams from Denmark. To our surprise, the Ute fight song was played prior to tip off! We felt right at home, and won with a score of 91 to 69!
We then finished off the night at a traditional Danish restaurant. My stew was covered in bacon. So naturally, I paid my compliments to the chef!
