SALT LAKE CITY - Incoming Utah women's basketball freshman Emily Potter recently competed in several exhibition games for the Canada Junior Women's National Team leading up to the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women.
Potter scored in double figures in three games. In the second of two games against France, Potter tied for the team lead with 17 points and six rebounds. Canada also played three games in the Lanzarote tournament. Potter scored 10 points against Australia and pulled down five rebounds in the game. Against the United States, Potter led Canada with 14 points, while tying for the team lead with six rebounds.
Canada moves on to the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women in Lithuania, competing in group C in the preliminary rounds. Canada opens the tournament against Senegal on July 18.
