WIDE RECEIVERS
The Lowdown
The talent pool will be much deeper than a year ago, which is good news for new receivers coach Taylor Stubblefield.
Headliners Returning
Senior Dres Anderson is the top returning receiver in the Pac-12 Conference, averaging 83.5 yards per game in 2013, with 53 receptions for 1,002 yards. If junior Kenneth Scott can stay healthy--he missed the 2010 and 2013 seasons with injuries--Utah will have a veteran one-two punch. Sophomore Delshawn McClellon, the team's fastest player, can burn defenses with his 4.37 40 speed, and sophomore Dominique Hatfield is another playmaker.
Newcomer Spotlight
Kaelin Clay joins the Utes with just one year of college eligibility left, but his arsenal is so impressive that his next stop could be the NFL.
Coach Whittingham Says
"After an exceptional junior year, we expect Dres Anderson to be one of the top receivers in the Pac-12 this fall. Getting Kenneth Scott back from injury gives us another threat on the outside and we are pleased with the development of Delshawn McClellon and Dominique Hatfield. The addition of junior college transfer Kaelin Clay adds speed and quickness to the group."
