Washington State Review: Utah fell at Washington State, 63-54, on Jan. 23 in Pullman's Beasley Coliseum. Utah held a 45.5 (20-44) to 32.8 (20-61) edge in shooting percentage over the Cougars to go with a 38-29 advantage in team rebounding.
Wicijowski Works: Senior forward Taryn Wicijowski (Regina, Saskatchewan) leads the Pac-12 with 36.2 minutes per game this season, is tied for third with 6.9 defensive rebounds per game, fourth with 9.9 rebounds (45th in NCAA), fifth with 3.0 offensive boards, seventh with 15.5 points per game (151st in NCAA), 12th with a .488 (104-213) shooting percentage (90th in NCAA) and 13th in blocks (1.1 bpg) (226th in NCAA). In league games only, Wicijowski is second in the Pac-12 with 37.1 minutes per game, third with 3.1 offensive rebounds per game, tied for sixth with 8.4 rebounds per game, tied for eighth with 15.4 points per game and 11th with 5.3 defensive rebounds per game. Wicijowski turned in 23 points with nine rebounds on Jan. 23 at Washington State, her fourth game with 20 or more points this season after going for a game-high 23 points off an 8-for-15 shooting performance and just missed her seventh double-double of 2014-15. She has reached double digits in points 13 times and had 10 or more rebounds seven times in 2014-15.
Wicijowski is the 10th member of Utah's 1,500-point club as she ranks eighth in school history with 1,737 career points. She is 23 points shy of tying Anne Handy (1,760 from 1981-85) for seventh place in school history. Wicijowski already owns the school record with 364 offensive boards. Current Director of Community Relations Kim (Smith) Gaucher is second with 341 from 2002 through `06. Wicijowski is fifth in the school record book with 952 total rebounds and needs 48 more to become just the fifth in player in school history with 1,000 or more career rebounds. She needs 63 more to tie Kim Smith (1,015 from 2000-06) for fourth place in school history.
Willing Wilson: Cheyenne Wilson (Seattle, Wash.) returns to her town after scoring 10 points on Jan. 23 at Washington State. She shot 50.0 (4-of-8), including a 2-for-4 night from 3-point territory, her third game in double-figures this season.
