Utah scored 60.2 points per game, while going for a .425 shooting percentage from the floor. Senior forward Taryn Wicijowski (Regina, Saskatchewan) averaged 14.7 points and 10.2 rebounds during the month.
Charlotte Review: Utah edged Charlotte, 54-52, in its non-conference finale on Dec. 29 in Salt Lake City. Utah had four players score at least nine points as the Utes held the 49ers to a 38.5 (20-52) shooting percentage.
Turn Up Taryn: Wicijowski turned in her fifth double-double of the year and became the school's all-time offensive rebound leader against Charlotte. With four offensive rebounds in the contest against the 49ers, Wicijowski became the school record holder in offensive rebounds. She connected on seven of 12 field goal attempts for a game-high 17 points to go with 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. She has nine games with double-digits in points this season and six with double-figures in rebounds.
Taryn Makes Her Mark: Wicijowski is the 10th member of Utah's 1,500-point club as she ranks 10th in school history with 1,629 career points. She is 61 away from tying Mikki Kane-Barton (1,690 from 1989-93) for ninth. Wicijowski already owns the school record with 342 offensive boards. Current Director of Community Relations Kim (Smith) Gaucher is second with 341 from 2002 through `06.
Dani Delivers: Junior point guard Danielle Rodriguez (Downey, Calif.) is third in the Pac-12 (46th in NCAA) with a 2.2 (46-21) assist-to-turnover ratio and eighth with 4.2 assists per game (107th in NCAA). In seven home games, Rodriguez has dished out 29 assists with only 12 turnovers. Rodriguez scored 11 points after shooting 5-for-8 from the field against Charlotte on Dec. 29, which was her third double-figure scoring game of the year.
