The Utes will tackle for the first time this spring starting Tuesday, Mar. 31. They'll return to non-tackle drills on Thursday before hitting again on Friday (the only Friday practice of the spring). Outdoor practices are open to the public. Practice locations will be announced each day.

CAMP NOTES
Bubba Poole, who will start wearing jersey No. 8 this week, is now considered a running back/wide receiver and is the backup slot back in the latest depth chart ... With starting right guard Salesi Uhatafe out all spring camp due to injury, freshman walk-on Owen Tauteoli is getting reps as the backup to Nick Nowakowski ... Competition is stiff for the starting job at right tackle where redshirt freshman Jackson Barton has pulled even with junior Sam Tevi ... There's a similar battle at tight end between junior Siale Fakailoatonga and senior Evan Moeai ... While middle linebacker Jared Norris has been cleared for live drills, the leading candidates at rover linebacker have not. Starter Gionni Paul and backup Sunia Tauteoli will be sidelined during tackle sessions. Among those filling in are sophomore Tanner Larsen and true freshman Jake Jackson ... Third-string nose tackle Clint Shepard has joined the injured list ... Scholarship players who will miss spring camp with injuries are Uhatafe, running back Dre'Vian Young and cornerback Ahmad Christian. Receiver Tim Patrick hopes to participate in non-contact drills at some point during camp.SPRING SCRIMMAGES/GAME
The Utes will hold scrimmages in Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, April 11 (10 a.m.) and Saturday, April 18 (10 a.m.). The Red-White game is Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m.REGISTER NOW
Free registration has opened for the annual Ultimate Tailgate Championship that precedes the Red-White game on April 25. Tailgating starts at 6 a.m. leading up to the 1 p.m. kickoff. Available tailgate areas range from four to 12 parking stalls and reservations are required. Two Ultimate Tailgate Competitions will be judged by a panel of celebrities: Best Overall Tailgate Spread and Best BBQ. Information and Registration. The Utah-USU football game has been moved to Fri., Sept. 11, 2015 at 7pm MT at request of Pac-12 office/TV partners. Nat'l TV network TBA.
