SAN FRANCISCO - Senior forward Taryn Wicijowski was named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team by the league's media, it was announced Wednesday.
Wicijowski, who also received Pac-12 All-Conference Team Honorable Mention and Pac-12 All-Defensive Team Honorable Mention from the league's coaches this season, has now been named to the all-conference team by the media two times in her career (also recognized in 2011-12).
Wicijowski has seven games with 20 or more points this season, including two of Utah's last five outings. She has eight double-doubles to go with 21 double-figure scoring games and 10 games with 10 or more rebounds. She has led or tied for the Ute team lead in rebounding 18 times, scoring 16 times, assists 12 times and blocks 11 times through 29 games in 2014-15.
Wicijowski is currently listed among the top 13 in six different Pac-12 statistical categories:
o third with 6.5 defensive rebounds per game
o fourth in rebounding (9.0 per game) (67th in NCAA)
o eighth in scoring (14.6 points per game) (201st in NCAA)
o eighth in offensive rebounding (2.6 orpg)
o ninth in shooting percentage (.480, 159-331) (82nd in NCAA)
o 13th in blocks (1.0 bpg)
In league games only, Wicijowski is in the top 10 in five different categories:
o sixth with 7.9 rebounds per game
o seventh with 5.6 defensive rebounds per game
o ninth with 13.9 points per game
o 10th with a .466 (95-204) shooting percentage
o tied for 10th with 2.3 offensive rebounds per contest
Wicijowski is also a Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team and All-District VIII Team selection. She scored 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and nine boards with five assists against Washington on Feb. 13 and went for 20 points and 11 rebounds versus Washington State on Feb. 15. She totaled 15 points against Oregon on Feb. 20 after going for 10 points and eight boards against No. 7/8 Oregon State on Feb. 22. Wicijowski tied her Pac-12 season high with 14 rebounds to go with 12 points for her eighth double-double at No. 10 Arizona State on Feb. 27.
Utah (9-20, 3-15 Pac-12) will face fifth-seeded Washington (22-8, 11-7 Pac-12) in the Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament First Round on Thursday, Mar. 5 at 8:30 p.m. PT on the Pac-12 Networks.
