SAN FRANCISCO – University of Utah women's basketball redshirt sophomore forward Emily Potter has been named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team by the media, the league office announced Wednesday.
Potter was also named to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team and received Pac-12 All-Defensive Team recognition from the coaches. The Winnipeg, Manitoba native was also named to the All-Freshman Team in 2013-14.
"It is great for Emily to be recognized by the coaches and the media," Utah Head Coach Lynne Roberts said. "Emily has been the opposing team's primary defensive focus all season and to have the season she has had under those circumstances is really impressive."
Potter set the school's single-season blocks record and currently has 74 in 2015-16. She finished the regular season among the leaders in the Pac-12 in several different statistical categories …
• second blocked shots per game (2.6).
• second with 14 double-doubles.
• third with 10.1 total rebounds per game.
• third with 7.0 defensive boards per contest.
• fifth in field goal percentage (49.6, 175-353).
• fifth in offensive rebounding (3.1 orpg).
• ninth in scoring (15.1 ppg) .
• 10th in free throw shooting at 69.0% (89-129) percent.
Potter turned in three games with 20 or more points in league play, including a conference season-high 23 points at Oregon on Feb. 12.

"What's exciting is that she hasn't come close to reaching her full potential," Roberts said. "I'm really looking forward to the next two years and seeing how much she will improve. She is determined and it will be fun to see."
The Utes are the No. 7 seed in the Pac-12 Tournament this week in Seattle and will face No. 10 seed California in the first round tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. PT in KeyArena. The matchup will be aired live on the Pac-12 Networks with Anne Marie Anderson (PBP) and Tammy Blackburn (Analyst) on the call with Jill Savage as the sideline reporter.
