Fall Camp Week 3
In the third and final week of their 2016 football camp, the Utes will hold nine practices, including a scrimmage on Tuesday. Double-day practices will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Camp concludes on Saturday, Aug. 20 and regular-season practices—along with classes—begin on Monday, Aug. 22. Fall camp is closed to the public. See sidebar for media access.

Outside the Lines

Inside the Huddle
Four players have been awarded scholarships during fall camp: senior tight end Ken Hampel, freshman defensive back Julian Blackmon, freshman defensive back Samson Nacua and freshman tight end Bapa Falamaka … Junior Troy Williams, a JC transfer who played at Washington his freshman year, has taken the lead at quarterback. His co-backups are junior Brandon Cox and true freshman Tyler Huntley … Entering the final week of camp, sophomore Jackson Barton, JC transfer Garett Bolles and senior Sam Tevi are listed as even at both left and right tackle … Senior J.J. Dielman, who has started the last 26 games at right tackle and was second-team All-Pac-12 last year, has secured the starting job at center … Moving from center to the backup at right guard is senior Nick Nowakowski … Defensive two deep changes have true freshman Bradlee Anae backing up at left end and true freshman Donavan Thompson backing up at mac linebacker.

Roster Moves
Sophomore safety Austin Lee has left the team. He was replaced on the camp "105" roster by freshman quarterback Logan Bateman … Freshman offensive lineman Scott Peck and senior tight end Siale Fakailoatonga suffered season-ending injuries in fall camp and were replaced on the "105" by redshirt freshman offensive lineman Daniel Heller and true freshman defensive tackle Mark Kruger. Kruger, the younger brother of former Utes Paul, Joe and Dave Kruger, initially walked on in the spring as an offensive lineman … Freshman defensive end Chris Hart is sidelined for fall camp but will return. He was replaced on the "105" by senior wide receiver Andrew Santiago … Two Utes who carried dual position titles entering fall camp have settled into single positions. Sophomore Chase Hansen is now a full-time safety (was listed as a DB/QB earlier) and freshman Davir Hamilton is taking all of his reps at linebacker (was a LB/WR).
