Playing the 200th game of her Canada Basketball career, team captain (Smith) Gaucher led all players with 10 rebounds and seven assists with three points. Thorburn added five points, dished out three assists and grabbed two boards. Plouffe scored three points with a rebound and three assists.
Mitchell scored 18 points and handed out a team-high six assists to help Australia rally from a 12-point deficit in the first half to defeat host Brazil at the Youth Arena, 84-66.
