Utes lone home tournament of the fall season

SALT LAKE CITY - Utah men's tennis will hold its only home event of the fall this weekend at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The Utah Invitational Tournament will run Friday-Sunday with first serve occurring daily at 9 am.

"We are excited to get the season going," said head coach Roeland Brateanu. "It's been a long wait since last April and I'm eager to see guys compete again."

The Utah Invitational will be the first look at a new and improved Ute squad. Returning seven players from last year, the Utes are looking to have a breakthrough season and qualify for the NCAA tournament for the first time in 20 years.

The Utes dominated this tournament last fall, winning all four doubles draws and three of four singles draws.

Admission is free, as well as parking in the E lot, east of Guardsman Way.
