Utah's Micevski Moves on at ITF Futures

Sophomore back in action tomorrow
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. – Sophomore David Micevski continued his run through the ITF Futures Tournament on Sunday, defeating Nicholas Shamma (USA), 7-5, 7-5 in the third round of the qualifying draw.
"It was not my best performance." said Micevski, "But I played well enough on most of the important points. I should have won both sets easier if I had capitalized on my early leads."
Micevski, born and raised in Skopje, Macedonia, will face Keegan Smith (USA) in the fourth and final round Monday morning for a bid into the main draw. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. Earlier in the tournament, Smith, a top 10 junior in the US, defeated Utah freshman Slava Shainyan, 7-5, 7-5.
