Kick-Off Weekend Information
SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah men's tennis team will make a road trip to Ohio State University for the ITA Kickoff WeekendÂ
this Friday throughÂ
Sunday. The Utes will match up against the Buckeyes (4-0) atÂ
8 a.m.Â
on Friday, Denver (1-0)Â
on Saturday, and finish with Old Dominion (5-0)Â
on Sunday.

The matches will be played at the Ohio State University Varsity Tennis Center, with the eventual champion moving onto the ITA-National Indoor Team Championship next month. Sixty teams will be competing across the country in an attempt to qualify for the ITA National Team Indoor Championships, which will be hosted by Virginia,Â
Feb. 17-20Â in Charlottesville.

Utah Notes
The Utes opened the season last weekend with a pair of 7-0 sweeps over Idaho State and Weber State.
David Micevski won both his matches at No. 1 singles and also advanced to the finals of the National Collegiate Team Tennis Classic in Palm Springs earlier this month. The doubles team of
Joe Woolley and fellow Brit
Dan Little also rolled to the finals of the National Collegiate Team Tennis Classic before finishing runner-up.
Opponent Notes
Ohio State is ranked No. 3 in the latest ITA Poll and has dropped just one set through its first four matches. Four players are ranked in the top-60, with two players ranked in the top-10. The Buckeyes also have a pair of doubles teams ranked in the top-60, as Di Feo/Joyce are No. 25, and the doubles pairing of Torpegaard/Pollanen is in a tie for No. 55.
Old Dominion has raced-out to a 5-0 start to the season including a pair of sweeps last weekend in the Pre-ITA Kick Off. ODU is led by No. 24 Adam Moundir, who has already been named a Conference USA Player of the Week this season after opening the year 3-0 in singles play, while taking down two nationally ranked players in the process.
Denver opened the 2017 season with a 5-2 at Boise State last weekend. The Pioneers have won the Summit League regular season and tournament titles each of the last three seasons and are picked as the preseason favorite again. The doubles team of Alex Gasson and Yannik James made an appearance at the National Doubles Championships last fall and opened the spring at the No. 18-ranked doubles team in the country.
