Opening statement
"Thank you for all being here. It is Wednesday and our last home weekend here. We play Friday against University of Oregon at 6 p.m. That is our Pink Game so we are excited about that and the first 500 fans get a pink Utah Utes water bottle and a pink stick flag. It's also free admission for anyone who is wearing pink. Oregon is having a good season. They are surging right now. They are coming off some big wins. Then we play Oregon State on Sunday. I'm not sure what they are ranked, top-10 or 11, I'm sure it is something like that. It never gets easier. These are our last two home games. We are coming off a solid weekend. We got a great win at California last Friday. I thought we played really, really well. We didn't play perfectly, nobody does but the things, in terms of executing, and what we wanted to do, on both ends of the floor we did. Then we played No. 9 Stanford on Sunday and didn't really play well. It's kind of been how the season's gone this whole conference season. We play well, look great then we take a step backwards. We have been a little inconsistent with that. I'm not sure what that is about. We have four games left in conference then Pac-12 tournament and then post season. It is really time to move on and focus on who you are playing next. For us, that is Oregon. We are looking forward to that game."

On the difference between California and Stanford
"I don't know what it was. I wish I knew. Friday's win put a little wind in our sails. You could just tell how the players were acting and approaching the game plan for Stanford. We had a good practice on Saturday at Stanford. Sunday, they woke up and I could tell they were ready to compete. They wanted to do well. I don't know. It was evident immediately. I used the term, zombie after the game. We were out of it. I have no idea why. It's not like they showed up and said, "Yeah, whatever, let's get crushed today." They wanted to compete. That didn't happen. I also will give Stanford a lot of credit. They are eighth in the country right now, so it's not like "Wow, how'd you lose to them? "They are really, really, good. They are the best that I have been around in taking you out. They have smart players and obviously, a good coach. She won 1,000, that's not too bad. Obviously, she knows how to put a game plan together. But they have an amazing way of taking you out of what you want to do; whether that's on the offensive or defensive end. Even in game, they take you out. After the game, you can feel even worse about yourself than you even should just because they are good at that. Oregon State is good at that too, just in terms of game planning. We need to give Stanford some credit for really doing a good job from the jump of taking us out of what we had any intention of doing."

On the players' mindsets heading into these two games
"I think at this point, Feb. 15, we are done talking about ranked opponents. "Hey, here comes another ranked opponent." What else is new? That goes without saying, the sun came up. Yeah, we know. It's what it is. I think Oregon is very talented. They are young. Their best players are young. Hopefully, we can show up with the competitive intensity that we showed up with Friday against California. Having a home court advantage with the elevation. We will see. It will be tough. We lost against Oregon earlier in the year.
Tanaeya Boclair went down in the first half with a really bad ankle sprain. We missed her down the stretch. She's obviously back. We are just going to have to play really well. We aren't talking about the fact that once again, we have two really good opponents coming in. That goes without saying in the Pac-12."

On Paige Crozon's senior weekend
"As I have said before Paige is just a great human being and she is our only senior. It is kind of cool that we can use this weekend to really just focus on her. We don't have our attention divided with several seniors. I think the mindset for me as a coach is I wanted to have a great year for Paige. I have coached for a really long time but this is her senior year. For me, that motivates me. Especially when you have someone with the character and coach-ability that Paige has. I can't say enough about the person she is. Then on top of that, she is a pretty darn good basketball player too. So what will we lose with her? Obviously her leaderships. She has played a lot of games and she is a fifth year senior so she brings maturity and a physical toughness. She has had some adversity. She redshirted the one year with a neck injury. She got hit so hard she lost hearing in one of her ears in practice. She has been through it. She has that toughness and resiliency so we will miss that. Right now she is our best outside shooter. We are going to have to replace that and I think we have some recruits coming in that can but they aren't going to be fifth year seniors. Paige brings a consistency and I always know what I am going to get with Paige whether it is a Tuesday morning practice or a Saturday night game she is the same. She is consistent in who she is, how she plays and how she conducts herself. As a coach that is about as valuable as it gets."
Â
On Paige's leadership
"She is one of the nicest human beings on planet Earth so she has a hard time getting in people's faces, so she is more of a lead by encouragement and lead by example. She is just really positive. Paige has a hard time saying that it is pouring outside, when you say "Paige how is the weather?" she says "It's nice". She is that kind of person and so as a leader she is always going to tell you that kind of good of what you are doing rather than what you are not doing."
