SALT LAKE CITY –The University of Utah women's basketball team will start WNIT action against UC Davis Friday at 6 p.m. MT at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
Head coach
Lynne Roberts has led her team to back-to-back postseason appearances with the Utes participating in the 2017 WNIT.
The Utes finished nonconference with an unblemished 11-0 record and went 5-13 in Pac-12 Conference action.
UC Davis enters the WNIT 23-7 overall after going 14-2 in the Big West Conference. The Aggies and the Utes both faced Montana State and Saint Mary's this season, and both teams won those matchups.
The Utah/UC Davis winner will face the winner of Colorado State/St. Mary's in Round Two of the WNIT.

Postseason History: This will be Utah's 29th postseason appearance (AIAW, WNIT and NCAA) in school history and the Utes are 27-32 all-time in postseason play. Lynne Roberts has featured three new starting lineups this season for the Utes.
Daneesha Provo,
Kiana Moore and
Megan Jacobs have been mixed into the starting five while
Paige Crozon and
Emily Potter are the only Utes to start all 30 games this season.
Potter in the Paint: Junior forward
Emily Potter is ranked fifth in the Pac-12 in field-goal percentage as the 6-6 Winnipeg, Manitoba native is shooting 51.7 percent from the floor. Potter leads the Pac-12 in blocked shots with 86, good for 14th in the NCAA. Potter knocked down her 1,000th career point on a free-throw in the first quarter against Northern Arizona to emerge as one of just 26 Utes to reach the milestone.
Cruzin' Crozon: Senior wing
Paige Crozon is averaging 10.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. The team's lone senior has tallied 995 career points with time to reach the 1,000 points club. Crozon scored a season-high 25 points including five 3-pointers against Washington State (02/05) and has two double-doubles this season.
Boasting Boclair: Junior wing
Tanaeya Boclair missed one game with an ankle sprain but is averaging 9.8 points and 4.2 rebounds for Utah. She knocked down a career-high 19 points against Oregon (02/17).
Buckets by Bean: Sophomore
Erika Bean dishes out 5.5 assists per game, good for third in the Pac-12. Despite being the shortest starter, the 5-8 guard also has 19 blocks on the season while pulling down 4.5 rebounds per game. Bean earned her first double-double of her career with 10 points and 10 assists at No. 10 UCLA.
Magnificent Malia: Junior wing
Malia Nawahine is the Utes second leading scorer with 10.5 points per game. Nawahine grabbed a career-high five steals in a 30-point win over Nevada. She is also second on the team with 57 assists on the season.
Seeing Double: Junior forward
Emily Potter has tallied nine double-doubles in 29 games while also averaging in double figures with 13.9 points per game. Senior wing
Paige Crozon has tallied two double-doubles on the season (Fresno State, Stanford). Sophomore guard
Erika Bean earned her first double-double of her career with 10 points and 10 assists at No. 10 UCLA.
Record Watch: Junior forward
Emily Potter is moving up the career blocks list in Utah's record book with 212 blocks as her 3-block performance against Nevada moved her into second. The 6-6 forward has swatted 86 shots this season including a season-high six blocks against USC and Stanford.
