Post-Practice Thoughts with Head Coach Kyle Whittingham…
On how the scrimmage looked today…
"We did good. It was very similar to what we did last week with some situational work, special teams work and did some game-like work. It was tough to get an accurate assessment because most of the work was not live, not to the ground. But as far as the execution, the smoothness of the groups coming in and out, the lack of penalties, it was good."
On if he is closer to making a decision on a starting quarterback…
"We should have a pretty clear picture on Monday."
On the most important characteristics that he is looking for in a quarterback…
"He has to be a great leader. And then obviously the production part, with how he moves the chains and move the game. Also taking care of the football. Those are the three things, move the football team, protect the ball, and bottom line, score points."
 On the offensive line…
"Well we have the five identified. Starting left to right we have Jackson Barton, and then either Salesi Uhatafe at left guard and Darrin Paulo at right tackle or vice versa. Lo Falemaka at center and then Jordan Agasiva at right guard."
 On other position battles…
"Well Zack Moss is the lead running back, that is pretty cut and dry right now. With the receiver group, we are still trying to determine who six, seven, and eight are. Tight ends, right now with Siale Fakailoatonga and Harrison Handley on the shelf, Bapa Falemaka is the starter. Defensive line, we have eight or nine guys that we are going to have in there headlined by Filipo Mokofisi, Kylie Fitts and Lowell Lotulelei. And then with linebackers, we are pretty set with Sunia Tauteoli and Kavika Luafatasaga, but Cody Barton is right there and will get a lot of time as well as Donavan Thompson. Cornerbacks we have a good battle going. Casey Hughes is right in the mix. Julian Blackmon is right there and so is Jaylon Johnson."
