Getting to Know U: Sara Leonard

Learn more about incoming freshman Sara Leonard in the latest of our newcomer "Getting to Know U" series. Leonard, who hails from Anaheim Hills, Calif., is in her first season with the Utah cross country squad.
Q: What about Utah stood out to you during the recruiting process?
A: All the girls seemed really fun and friendly and I loved that the U was so close to the mountains!
Q: What is the main reason you chose to attend Utah?
A: I loved that the school offered such great opportunities in the medical field as well as an outstanding team and quick access to the outdoors.
Q: If you could have an intro or walk-up song, what would it be?
A: I'll stick to my roots and say "California Gurls" by Katy Perry.
Q: If you could choose one actress to play you in a movie, who would it be?
A: I would choose Reese Witherspoon.
Q: What was the first car you ever had? If you could get a new one today, what would it be?
A: My first car was a Hyundai Elantra GT. If I could get a new one I would probably get an old truck or Jeep Wrangler.
Q: What's the most used app on your phone?
A: iMessages.
Q: What is your all-time favorite vacation spot? Where would you like to go that you have not been yet?
A: My all-time favorite vacation spot would have to be Austria. I would really like to go to Alaska, Switzerland, and Nepal!
Q: What is one thing about you that most people do not know?
A: I hiked up Mount Whitney (California's tallest mountain).
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
A: I would live in Canada. Somewhere near the Canadian Rockies.
