TUCSON, ARIZ. – Utah earned a split on the road this weekend after dropping its Sunday match against No. 25 Arizona in four sets in the McKale Center.

Brianna Doehrmann had a season high 28 digs in the match.

The first set was tight, but Arizona went on a 5-0 run to take a 17-14 lead. Utah responded and came back to take the lead 21-20. They eventually built a 23-21 lead with eyes on taking an early lead in the match. The Wildcats came back with a 3-0 run to earn a set point up 24-23. Utah held one set point forcing extra points, but couldn't hold the second as Arizona took the opening set 26-24.

Doehrmann had 10 digs in the first set alone.

After dropping the second set and falling down 2-0, Utah got a jump early in the third racing out to a 6-1 lead. The Utes held that lead the rest of the way pushing the match to a fourth set.

Both teams had big runs early in the fourth set forcing each team to use a timeout, but it was a 5-0 run by Arizona to go up 14-9 that turned the tables. The Wildcats eventually took a lead as big as eight, but Utah tried to get back in the set. They used a 5-0 run to get back within three, but Arizona closed out the match 25-20.

Dani Drews closed out her good weekend with 16 kills hitting .218 and seven digs.

Utah will now return home for a pair of home matches against Washington State on Wednesday, October 24 and Washington on Friday, October 26. Wednesday will be Utah's Pink Match this season. If fans wear pink, they will get in for free.
