Megan Huff has earned a spot on the 2017-18 Pac-12 Women's Basketball All-Conference Team, headlining three Utes who received conference honors today. Â
Huff is one of 15 players who earned All-Pac-12 this season with senior
Emily Potter also earning honorable mention status for All-Conference and All-Defensive Team.
Tori Williams rounds out Utah's Pac-12 selections today after being named to the All-Freshman honorable mention list.
Huff and Williams are both earning their first post-season Pac-12 honors with Potter adding hers to her collection. Potter has garnered all-defensive honorable mention selections for three straight years along with being named to the all-conference honorable mention squad in 2017 and earning first-team honors in 2016.
Despite missing the last two games, Huff is leading the Utes in points and rebounds, averaging 14.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. She has recorded 20 games in double-digits this season, including six games in the 20-point range to rank 11
th in the league in points per game. She also has six double-doubles this season.
The Federal Way, Wash. native, has been consistent this season, ranking fourth in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage (.507) and in the top-10 in offensive, defensive and total rebounds per game. She has started in 27 games in her first season in a Utah uniform and has led the Utes in scoring in 14 games.
Potter has been a force on both ends of the court, ranking second on the team in scoring with 12.6 points per game and leading the team in blocks with 53. The senior has broken through several milestones this season, including becoming the first player in program history to have 1,500+ points, 900+ rebounds and 200+ blocks in a career.
She ranks in the top-10 in the Pac-12 this season in total rebounds and defensive rebounds per game, also coming in at No. 3 in blocks. With her 53 blocks this season, she has not only set the Utah career block record, but has also moved into No. 5 all-time in Pac-12 history in the category.
Williams stepped on the scene this season and quickly made an impact for the Utes as a true freshman. She is averaging 9.0 points, 2.2 assists and a team-high 28.6 minutes per game, earning Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors twice this season.
The Boise, Idaho, native has been key for the Utes this season on the perimeter, knocking down a team-best 56 three-pointers, ranking fifth overall in the Pac-12 and first among freshmen in the league. She has hit two-or-more threes in 18 games this season, including her career-high of seven against Washington that tied a Huntsman Center record.
The Utes get started in the first round of the 2018 Pac-12 Women's Basketball Tournament on Thursday, March 1 against Colorado. The game will air live on the Pac-12 Networks at 12:30 p.m. MT.
The Pac-12 Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, John R. Wooden Coach of the Year and Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors will be announced tonight at 6 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Network in a special 30-minute Pac-12 Sport Report. In addition to the live announcement of the yearly awards, the show will include analysis and recaps of the conference heading into the Pac-12 Tournament.
