Army Man Award: Emily Potter
Players are awarded with army men after every win or loss and the athletes collect them throughout the season.
Green Army Man: 5 defensive rebounds, 3 steals, 3 "disruptions"
Blue Army Man: 3 offensive rebounds, 3 assists, or any screen assists
Yellow Army Man: Awarded for charges
Red Army Man: Awarded to the "fireman" or player of the game
Sixth Man Award: Tilar Clark
Clark had a "do whatever-it-takes" attitude this season whether it was in a starting role or coming off the bench. She averaged 7.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game. She became one of the scrappiest defenders in the Pac-12, but also excelled on offense, scoring a career-best 17 points against Utah State.Â
Fern Gardner Most Inspirational Award: Wendy Anae
Anae faced many obstacles throughout her personal and athletic life here at Utah, but persevered and was a constant beacon of light for the Utes. She truly embodies what it means to be a Ute. She tore her ACL the practice before the trip to Italy and was sidelined her senior season. Some players would have checked out mentally and physically, but she attacked every physical therapy appointment with a smile on her face and made it her mission to be the loudest and most-encouraging voice on the bench.Â
Weight Room Warrior: Tanaeya BoClair
BoClair was a force on the court this season and in the weight room, improving her personal-bests at the hang clean, back squat, bench press, pull-ups, push-ups and her vertical.Â
Hang Clean: 155 lbs
Back Squat: 245 lbs
Bench Press: 145 lbs
Pull-ups: 12 non-assisted
Push-ups: 31
Vertical: 27 inches
Charlene Doi Academic Achievement Award: Arianna LaLonde and
Maurane Corbin
This award is given out to the player who excelled the most in the classroom during the season. LaLonde, a biomedical engineer major, and Corbin, a managment major, both earned perfect 4.0 GPAs this semester.Â
