Men's tennis team puts record seven student-athletes on Pac-12 All-Academic teams
SAN FRANCISCOÂ - Utah men's tennis placed a program record seven student-athletes on the Pac-12 All-Academic teams this afternoon.

Egbert Weverink became the second Ute in program history to earn First Team Pac-12 All-Academic honors in consecutive seasons. Slava Shainyan was also selected to the conference's top team, his first honor as a Ute.

Santiago Sierra joined Matt Cowley as the only Ute in school history to garner Pac-12 academic honors in three-straight seasons, earning a nod to the second team. Classmates Dan Little, Joe Woolley and David Micevski were also selected to the second team, collecting academic honors in consecutive years.

Azat Hankuliyev achieved honorable mention status, his first postseason recognition from the Pac-12

Utah has had 17 student-athletes earn 31 Pac-12 All-Academic honors since joining the conference in 2012.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and compete in at least 50% of the team's matches.
