SALT LAKE CITY – Former Utah forward
Emily Potter is set to begin her professional basketball career in Poland this fall after announcing that she has signed with the Politechnika Gdanska Lions.
Potter left Utah as the all-time leader in career (270) and single-season (89) blocks, also ranking fifth all-time in Pac-12 history in career blocks.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native ranks 11
th all-time at Utah in scoring (1,635), fifth in total rebounds (1,037), fourth in offensive rebounds (313) and second in defensive boards (724).
She was the first player in Utah history to have 1,500+ points, 900+rebounds and 200+ blocks in a career, garnering three All-Pac-12 selections during her time at Utah. She finished her senior year ranked in the top-10 in the Pac-12 in field goal percentage, blocks per game and total rebounds.
In her career at Utah, Potter had 95 double-digit scoring games, 42 double-digit rebounding games and 36 double-doubles, cementing herself as one of the best centers in the country.
Potter was also active off the court during her time at Utah, earning Pac-12 All-Academic three straight seasons and was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District team as a senior. She already has a degree in marketing and is currently wrapping up her degree in journalism this spring.
Outside of her time with the Utes, Potter has plenty of international playing experience with the Canadian National Team. She has played in two FIBA World Championships and multiple exhibition games for the senior team.
