Whether it is being a head coach or a student manager, each member of the Utah women's basketball staff plays a key role for the student-athletes who come through the program. This summer, get to know the 2018-19 women's basketball staff through a series called "Getting to know U".
Kendall Rodriguez, Utah's social media wiz and director of marketing, alumni and community relations, is entering her fourth year with the team.
Q: Where are you from?
A: La Habra, Calif.Â

Q: Why did you decide to get into social media and marketing?
A: I realized that I had true #Instafamous potential at a young age and knew it was for me.Â

Q: Where did you get your degrees from?
I got my B.S. in business with a concentration in marketing and a minor in communications from Pacific. I'm currently in the MBA program at the Eccles School of Business here at the U and am on track to graduate next spring.

Q: What made you want to come to Utah?
I played for Coach
Lynne Roberts at Pacific. When she got the job at Utah, I was still playing overseas in Australia, she face-timed and offered me the job. I accepted without ever have even visited the state of Utah!

Q: What has been your favorite part about moving to Utah so far?
A: Being surrounded by the mountains and having hundreds of hikes to choose from, friendly people everywhere you go, and the overall ease/accessibility of Salt Lake International Airport.

Q: What is your favorite Salt Lake City restaurant?
A: Somi. It's Vietnamese fusion and it's incredible.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time outside of work?
A: Take my Great Pyrenees, Gemma, for walks, play beach volleyball, and binge-watch HBO series.

Q: What is your favorite road trip with women's basketball and why?
A: Visiting the LA schools because I get to see my family!

Q: What is something most people might not know about you?
A: I am the 2004 Orange County Fair Spaghetti Eating Contest Champion.

Q: Who have been some of the biggest influences in your life and why?
A: My parents for exemplifying hard-work, compassion, humor and generosity.

A: Coach

Q: If you could have a super power, what would it be?
A: The ability to clone myself so I could be in multiple places at one time #Inception.

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Carne Asada Tacos drenched in all the hot sauces

Q: What would you do with the money if you won the lottery?
A: Take my entire family on a world-tour via private jets, yachts, and tuk-tuks.
