Daneesha Provo of Utah women's basketball have been selected to the Senior Canada National Team to participate in a four-game Asia Exhibition series Aug. 1-7.
Provo and Potter are two of 12 athletes that will represent the Senior Canada Women's National Team in China and Japan next week. Both athletes are currently attending training camp and will play both No. 10 China and No. 13 Japan with Canada ranking No. 5 in the FIBA World rankings.
Both Provo and Potter will be familiar with the team after having played internationally on several different occasions. Provo most recently played with the Development National Team in the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia where she averaged 13.2 points in five games.
Potter made her Senior National Team debut in 2016 in Spain, also playing for the Development National Team for four games in Prague where she averaged 9.3 points. She recently signed with the Politechnika Gdanska Lions out of Poland to begin her professional career overseas this fall.
Games start on Aug. 1 with Canada taking on China in Zhangjiang before switching locations on Aug. 3 for a second game in Guangzhou, China. On Aug. 5, the duo and the Canadian National Team will take on Japan in Nagaoka before rounding out their trip on Aug. 7 in Takasaki.
