Julie Brosseau. Even though the Repentigny, Quebec, native will have to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules, she is ready to make an impact. Brosseau comes to Utah from the University of Maine where she led the Black Bears to an NCAA Tournament berth in 2018 after ranking fourth in the America East in three-pointers per game.
Q: How did your interest in basketball begin?
A: My sister started playing basketball at a young age, and it is not that I had an interest at first, but since my sister was playing, I started playing too.
Q: What is your favorite part about playing basketball?
A: Opportunity to surpass yourself and to achieve something that you wanted and worked for it.
Q: What made you choose Utah?
A: I believe it is a great fit for me and Utah is in a very good conference.
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of basketball?
A: Taking time for myself, getting out of my routine. Shopping, going to the movies, eating at restaurants.
Q: What is the best piece of advice you've been given?
A: One key to success is self-confidence. The key to self-confidence is preparation.
Q: Who is your biggest influence in life on and off the court and why?
A: I don't believe there is only one big influence in my life, but it is more like a combination of people that help me to grow as a person. My influence is based on all those people put together.
Q: What do you think are some keys to success when it comes to being a college athlete?
A: Being very strong mentally and being able to have confidence in yourself, consistency, and perseverance.
Q: If you could play and go pro in any other sport, what would it be and why?
A: Golf or tennis; they make a lot of money.
Q: What are you looking forward to most this season?
A: To improve myself and to see this team going to March Madness.
Q: What is your favorite part about being on the basketball team at Utah so far?
A: All the support we have from all areas, it is great how well we are taken care of!
Q: Where is your favorite place to eat in Salt Lake City?
A: I didn't have time yet to explore the food areas, but probably a sushi place.
Q: If you could have a super power, what would it be?
A: Unlimited knowledge.
Q: Do you have any hidden talents?
A: I can draw.
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Shrek.
Q: What did you want to be growing up?
A: I never had an idea of what I wanted to be in the future.
Q: If you could take three things with you to a desert island, what would they be?
A: Unlimited music, sunscreen, swimsuit.
Q: If you could describe yourself in three words, what would they be?
A: Sensitive, grateful, ambitious.
Q: What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
A:Â Vanilla for sure. Then anything that can be added to it like oreos, reeses, cookie dough.
Q: If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
A: I would go back to the time when my parents were younger.
