Whether it is being a head coach or a student manager, each member of the Utah women's basketball staff plays a key role for the student-athletes who come through the program. Get to know the 2018-19 women's basketball staff through a series called "Getting to know U". Assistant coach Danyelle Snelgro is entering her fourth year with the team.Â
Q: Where are you from?
A: Pasadena, Calif.

Q: Why did you decide to get into coaching?
A: I had a really vital role on my team during my college career that steered me into coaching. Leadership, connectivity, love for the game and mentorship became my true investments after my sophomore year.

Q: Where did you get your degree from?
A: Utah State University.
Â
Q: What made you want to come to Utah?
A: Having played in the state of Utah and against the University of Utah, as a player and coach, I knew what great tradition was here. I always had so much respect for the university and program that I wanted to be a part of restoring that tradition.

Q: What has been your favorite part about moving to Utah so far?
A: I love the 360 degree views of the mountains. Nothing like it.

Q: What is your favorite Salt Lake City restaurant?
A: I have a list: R&R's Barbeque, Current, Park Café, Sapa Sushi Bar & Chile-Tepin

Q: What do you like to do in your free time outside of work?
A: I enjoy spending time with those close to me, shopping, catching up on shows, listening to music.

Q: What is your favorite road trip with women's basketball and why?
A: I love the UCLA/USC and Cal/Stanford road swings because selfishly I get to see my family.

Q: What is something most people might not know about you?
A: I can't throw a football.

Q: Who have been some of the biggest influences in your life and why?
A: My mother is my influence. So much of who I am to my core is because of the example she set for me.
Â
Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: haha…an architect.
Â
Q: If you could have a super power, what would it be?
A: Teleportation, would make traveling a lot easier.
Â
Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Gumbo.

Q: What would you do with the money if you won the lottery?
A: Take care of my family.
