Q: What is your earliest memory of basketball and what was special about that moment?
A: "My earliest memory of basketball is going to the gym every Saturday with my dad at the university by my house. We would start on the basketball courts and shoot around then my dad would put targets all over the wall for me to hit. After we would always play one on one for a dollar. These moments were special because it was time that my dad and I got to spend together and when my sister and brother were old enough to come along we all would spend Saturday together going to the gym."
Â
Q: What was it like growing up in your hometown? Any specific memories that stand out?
A: "Growing up, I lived down the street from my elementary school and played sports almost every day afterwards. The best memories I have from growing up were from playing basketball with the friends I've known since kindergarten and playing with the neighbors down the street every other free second I had."
Â
Q: How has your family influenced you on and off the court?
A: "On the court, I grew up with basketball being a huge part of my life because of my dad. While he was playing overseas, me and my mom were there with him supporting him and when I was old enough to play on a team, my dad was my coach until halfway through my high school career. Off the court, my parents have raised me to be the person I am today and have always supported me in what I've wanted to do."
Â
Q: Who would you say you take after most in your family and why?
A: "I think I take most after both my mom and my dad and my aunt just because my personality is a mix of theirs."
Â
Q: What about the sport of basketball made you fall in love with it?
A: "What made me fall in love with basketball was the fact that me and my teammates all had to be having fun together for us to succeed. When I joined my first basketball team, I was so scared to be doing something new but being able to play together and have to all be on the same page and work together to win made winning mean so much more because it took everyone."
Â
Q: Was there ever a time that you thought college basketball wouldn't be in your future? If so, what made you change your mind?
A: "No, I always knew I would play basketball in college because I can't imagine not playing basketball."
Â
Q: What is something people might not know about you?
A: "My knee caps make smiley faces."
Â
Q: What about the University of Utah made you want to continue your career here?
A: "What I love about Utah is the connection I had to both the place and the people. Once I visited Utah I knew it was where I wanted to play for my college career."
Â
Q: What has been your favorite part about playing basketball at Utah so far?
A: "My favorite part about playing at Utah so far has been being able to play with the amazing group of women that made up my freshman season last year."
