Q: What is your earliest memory of basketball and what was special about that moment? A: " Watching my father playing with his friends in a summer league. Growing up, basketball has always been a part of my family and I was use to hearing stories about my grandfather's career, but actually seeing the game in real life was a totally different experience. I remember, me and my brother were sitting on the side watching my dad play, dunking and shooting and I loved the environment that we were in. Ever since then, me and brother were my father's biggest fans."
Q: What was it like growing up in your hometown? Any specific memories that stand out? A: " Nothing was very special about my hometown except that all my neighbors and I, when school was done, we would meet all around my house and hangout in our pool, play basketball, biking competitions and other activities. My favorite memories were when me and my friends would put up two baskets and just play across the street. The cars that would pass through were so used to seeing us playing so they would take the long ride, so they wouldn't disturb us."
Q: How has your family influenced you on and off the court? A: "My mother has definitely influenced me more outside the court with her values and her personality. She is respectful to everyone, goofy, sociable, not shy, always smiling. She made me who I am today, we are the same person. Growing up and seeing her making friends so easily made me realize that in life we should never be shy or uncomfortable and just go after what you want. But on the other side, my dad is the one that made me very competitive, always want to get better at stuff that I am not very good at, fearless and of course his character. He was always coaching me in everything that I did and he was always pushing me harder than the others, because he knew that I could give more. I am not going to lie, it was hard, but today I do not let anybody step on my feet for any reason."
Q: Who would you say you take after most in your family and why? A: "Both of my parents are the ones that I took most of. They have been involved in everything I do, even when I was a cheerleader for a year. They were always pushing me to do new activities and to find what I love. Also, my older brother. Me and him were inseparable and still are. He was always hard on me, because I was younger, but he helped me to be competitive."
Q: What about the sport of basketball made you fall in love with it? A: "Every time I step on the floor, the thrill that I have after every shot made by me or my teammate, I just love the way everybody was celebrating."
Q: Was there ever a time that you thought college basketball wouldn't be in your future? If so, what made you change your mind? A: " Not really. When I knew that I wanted to play basketball professionally, I knew that I wanted to go to a good college and play the game that I love."
Q: What is your dream job and why? A: " My dream job would be being a university basketball coach. I would love to coach the game that has been part of my life since I was little. I have been coaching my little sister's team and I just love it."
Q: What is something people might not know about you? A: " The only hidden talent that I could think of is knowing all the Disney songs by heart."
Q: What has been your favorite part about playing basketball at Utah so far? A: "First, I love my team, we are always bounding with each other, doing activities and I consider all of them my sisters. Also, the feeling that I get when I am in the Utah arena, the environment, the fans, the announcer, everything is just so amazing. The video before every game when they announced the starting five, gives me chills every time, because I get to play the game that I love with amazing teammates."
