ATLANTA – Utah's Men's Swim & Dive Team took second place and
Audrey Reimer won the 200 back as the Utes wrapped up competition at the Georgia Tech Invite.
Reimer broke her own mark in the 200 back, placing fourth with a NCAA "B" time of 1:54.95. On the men's side,
David Fridlander took fifth with another NCAA "B" time of 1:44.88. In the 100 free,
Liam O'Haimhirgin won the event with a time of 42.72, a NCAA "B" standard. His brother, Finn, took seventh with the seventh-fastest time in Utah history, while
Cooper DeRyk also cracked the top 10 all-time with an eighth-place finish (43.93).
The 200 breast was another exceptional event for Utah as
Charity Pittard took fifth for the women with the second-fastest swim in Utah history. Her time of 2:12.37 also qualified as a NCAA "B" mark.
Brody Lewis set a new personal best with the second-fastest time in Utah history (1:58.26) and nudged out
Andrew Britton in the "A" final. Britton's mark of 1:58.93 was the fourth-fastest swim in Utah history.
On the boards, a pair of Utah divers turned in outstanding performances.
Luke McDivitt took third in the platform with a score of 306.80 and
Lizzy DeCecco was sixth with a score of 227.65. Both marks put them among the top 10 divers on the Utah leader boards.
The Utes dominated the 1650 free with
Tyler Klawiter taking second with a time of 15:00.73. It was the third-fastest swim in Utah history.
Rahiti De Vos was right behind him in third place with a NCAA "B" time of 15:20.77 and
Jackson Cunningham took eighth.
Sara McClendon paced the women, taking sixth overall, as
Mandy Gebhart placed eighth.
Cole Giandinoto paced Utah in the 200 fly, taking fifth with a mark of 1:46.37. It was the seventh-fastest swim in Utah history and a NCAA "B" qualifying time.
Ben Waterman placed ninth overall.
Christina Pick and
Leyre Casarin qualified for the "B" finals of the 200 fly and 100 free, respectively.
The weekend closed with the 400 free relays. The men took second thanks to the O'Haimhirgin brothers,
Felix Chiun and DeRyk. The women were sixth with a quartet of Casarin,
Maddie Woznick,
Kayla Miller and Reimer.
The next event for the Utes is at home with the Utah Diving Invitational set to be held Fri., Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. and Sat., Dec. 7 at 4 p.m.
