Dan Little has been named the Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced today by the league office.
Little is coming off an outstanding weekend of play where he took down two ranked opponents to help the Utes improve to 6-3 this season. This is Little's first Pac-12 weekly honor and the first for the Utes since
Parker McGuiness earned the nod in 2015.
Little joins former Utes McGuiness (2015), Slim Hamza (2013, 2014) and Ben Tasevac (2014) in winning conference player of the week honors since joining the Pac-12.
Little, a Pac-12 all-conference selection from last season, has picked up right where he left off. The London, England native is 5-3 overall in singles this season and 4-1 in doubles play.
This past week, the Utes took on Miami and Iowa in Iowa City with Little coming away with two ranked wins. He got started with a huge win over No. 13 Adria Soriano of Miami, beating him in two straights sets at 7-5, 6-4.
He wrapped up his weekend with another top-100 victory, defeating No. 89 Kareem Allaf of Iowa. The senior took the Hawkeye down 6-1, 6-3. Â
