Learn more about incoming freshman Maya LeBar in the latest of our newcomer "Getting to Know U" series. LeBar, who hails from Spokane, Wash., is in her first season with the Utah track & field squad.

Q: What about Utah stood out to you during the recruiting process?
A: First thing would have been the mountains, then as I got to know the coaches and girls, I would say that's what drew me here.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Salt Lake City?
A: The mountains and how there is so much to do outside - but also in the city
Q: If you could choose one actress to play you in a movie, who would it be?
A: Lupita Nyong'o
Q: What was the first car you ever had? If you could get a new one today, what make and model would it be?
A: My first car was a 2002 Subaru Outback; if I could get a new car today, it would be the brand-new Jeep Wrangler
Q: What is your favorite food? What is your least favorite food?
A: My favorite food is Pad Thai or any type of noodles; my least favorite food is Brussel sprouts
Q: What is one thing about you that most people do not know?
A: I used to be a cross country ski racer.
Q: If you could have an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be?
A: Gatorade
