Q: When you first started getting recruited, what about the program at Utah attracted you?
A: "The things that really attracted me to Utah was of course the environment. I have never seen so many mountains and I just loved it. Also, my future teammates, they were so nice and I really like their philosophy, which is all based on family. And finally, the Pac-12. I always wanted to play for a big university against amazing teams, so just being recruited by this university was a really big honor."
Q: What is your favorite part about playing basketball at Utah so far?
A: "The atmosphere during the games. Playing in front of a big crowd is always so fun. Utah fans are so amazing. The announcers created a lot of fun activities for them to be a part of the game. You get this energy every time you make a good play or a steal, which helps us a lot to always be motivated during the hard games."
Q: What is it like getting to play in one of the best conferences in the country?
A: "It is a really big honor. Being an international player is really different. When I was growing up, I always wanted to play basketball in the NCAA, but I never thought I was going to get recruited by the Pac-12, which was amazing. Yes, sometimes the games are really hard and close, but that is what makes it fun. In this conference, every game is different and there is a new challenge to complete that makes us better players, better teammates and better people."
Q: What is your favorite thing to do in Salt Lake City outside of basketball?
A: "I really love to hang out with my teammates. Sometimes we all go to the pool and tan and just talk for hours. Or we go eat breakfast at Park Cafe, go shopping or just go downtown to explore the city. One of the best days this summer was on the Fourth of July.
Ola Makurat and I went on a hike to have a better view of the fireworks and it was so pretty and so different from my country."
Q: What are your three favorite things to do in the state of Utah?
A: "Any types of activities that involved team bonding, going to see movies on Tuesdays and watching the sun set over the mountains."
