As just sophomores on the squad last season, Dru Gylten, Niyah Becker and Andrea Torres were key in Utah’s production on both ends of the court, playing in over 2,032 minutes between the three of them with 54 starts.
With Maurane Corbin moving away from the court and into a student assistant coach role, the trio of Gylten, Becker and Torres are set to being their junior campaigns after a strong off-season for all three. Utah’s junior class brings versatility, size and quickness to the court this season, providing leadership to a young squad that is eager to show its talent in the Pac-12.
Gylten has started in every game she has appeared in as a Ute, proving she is one of the best passers in the Pac-12, and in Utah history. Torres joins Gylten for their third year on the court together as a strong presence inside and out, consistently knocking down the three as a forward. Becker starts her junior campaign after a breakout sophomore year where her length was key on the Utah defense.

How Andrea Describes Her Play: Smart, reliable and efficient.
She has gotten herself in the best shape of her life. As a player during this pandemic, you can either lay in your bed and watch Netflix, or you can get up and do work. Andy got up and did the work. There is no substitute for just putting the work in. She’s in shape, she’s confident, she’s quicker, and leading.Lynne Roberts
