Dear Freshman Me,
This program will have taught you to be persistent, to value more than the game of basketball, how to handle adversity head on, but most importantly, to believe in God's timing.
Your four years here, you will have developed a mentality that will help you in your future, while also developing friendships that you will cherish for a lifetime.
Since you stepped on this campus, nothing has ever been handed to you.
The grind and the grit in your faith has gotten you through everything – whether it is school or ball.
Trust in God's timing, because it is always the best timing. Know that your family is with you every step of the way.
Most importantly, don't let others dictate your future, and know what you're capable of, and nothing will deter you from being the best you can be.
Â
Take an opportunity and run with it.
Stay on your toes and be ready so you never have to get ready. Go hard, be intense, and stay competitive.
There is nothing like competing and earning a degree from a Pac-12 conference.
Â
Lead your peers, know that they will be the face of the program, and show by example. Be grateful for every opportunity you get, because four years flies by faster than you know.
Â
By the end, you will realize that everything you went was for a reason, and all your successes will be that much sweeter.
Â
Thank you to my coaches, staff, but most importantly my family over the four years.
Go UTES!
