SEATTLE, Wash. – The University of Utah women's basketball team led from start to finish tonight against the University of Washington, beating the Huskies 74-65 on the road to improve to 11-11 overall and 4-7 in Pac-12 play.
Utah led by as many as 15 points in the first half, but the Huskies came out in the third quarter shooting 66-percent from the floor, closing the gap to single digits. The Huskies went on an 8-0 run to end the third quarter, sending the Utes into the final period only up four.
The Utes were able to keep their composure, fighting off Washington's late surge with Washington native
Brynna Maxwell scoring seven of her 16 points in the fourth quarter.
Maxwell was able to convert on two free throws with under a minute to play in the game to put the Utes up by eight with
Andrea Torres scoring a layup with seven seconds on the clock. Torres' late layup would put the exclamation point on the game, giving the Utes their 11
th win of the season.
The Utes finished the game shooting 44-percent from the floor, including 55-percent in the fourth quarter, and 40-percent from the three, knocking down 11 from the arc. Utah also shot 91-percent from the free throw line, the second straight game shooting 90-percent or higher from the charity stripe.
LEADERS
Maxwell scored a game-high 16 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the floor, 2-of-4 from the three and a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line. She added a career-high tying seven rebounds along with two steals.
Kiana Moore scored in double-digits for the second straight game, putting up 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
Lola Pendande and
Maurane Corbin added nine points each with Corbin's career-high point total coming from going 4-for-4 from the floor along with knocking down one free throw.
Dru Gylten also put together a well-balanced game, scoring seven points, grabbing five rebounds and dishing out a game-high eight assists. She also led the team in steals, recording three.

STANDOUT STAT
The Utes knocked down 11 threes against the Washington Huskies, the seventh time this season the Utes have knocked down double-digit threes in a game. Six players for the Utes hit at least one three in the game with Torres, Maxwell,
Daneesha Provo, Moore and Kemery Martín all knocking down two each.
Utah has hit eight or more threes in 11 of its 22 games this season and 47 times under the direction of
Lynne Roberts. The Utes are 37-10 in those games.
NOTABLE
- Sophomore Maurane Corbin scored a career-high nine points on perfect 4-for-4 shooting, adding a made free throw. She scored six of her nine points in the second quarter, including a layup with 42 seconds on the clock to give Utah a 15-point lead.
- Dru Gylten finished the game with a team and game-high eight assists. She has either led or tied for the lead in assists in 18 of the 21 games she has appeared in and in 34 career games. She has also had five or more assists in 13 games this season and 35 in her career.
- Utah finished the game with eight of its 11 players that saw action scoring at least six points in the game.
- Freshman Brynna Maxwell has reached double-digits in five of the last six games, including her 16-point outing tonight. She has reached 15-or-more points in eight games this season.
