The University of Utah women's basketball team finished the 2019-20 season 14-17 overall and 6-12 in Pac-12 play, finishing in eighth in the conference. It wrapped up head coach
Lynne Roberts' fifth year at the helm with an 86-71 overall record as a Ute.
GOODBYE TO THE PAST, HELLO TO THE FUTURE
The Utes graduate two seniors after the 2019-20 season in
Daneesha Provo and
Kiana Moore. Provo, who was granted another year of eligibility after tearing her ACL in 2018-19 during her true senior season, returned to the court to finish her career with 95 games played (43 starts) and 780 points as a Ute. Moore wrapped up her career playing in 118 career games with 25 starts, playing in 1,929 minutes and scoring 604 career points, also earning Pac-12 All-Defensive Team as a junior.

Roberts announced the addition of Kennady McQueen (Henefer, Utah/North Summit), Peyton McFarland (Boise, Idaho/Boise HS) and Donna Ntambue (Montreal, Quebec/Niagra Prep) after the trio signed NLIs to become Utes for the 2020-21 season. McQueen and McFarland are both ESPN Top 100 recruits, also earning Gatorade Player of the Year in their respective states, while Ntambue is ranked No. 13 in her class by Crown Scout Girls Rankings in Canada. As a whole, Utah's signing class ranks 20th on ESPN.com, its highest recruiting class ranking in program history.

RETURNING TALENT
Despite losing two key contributers in Provo and Moore, the Utes will return 10 letter winners from the 2019-20 season (

Zuzanna Puc). Four of Utah's top-five scorers from the 2019-20 season return in Maxwell (13.1), Pendande (10.8), Gylten (6.9) and Torres (5.9). Utah returns its leaders in virtually every statistical category as well, including in points (Maxwell, 407), field goal percentage (Pendande, .576), three-point percentage (Maxwell, .472), free throw percentage (Maxwell, .943), rebounds (Pendande, 182), assists (Gylten, 159), steals (Gylten, 42), blocks (Pendande, 34) and minutes played (Maxwell, 824).
THREES, THREES AND MORE THREES
Utah hit eight or more threes 16 times this season and 52 times under the direction of
Lynne Roberts, going 40-12 in those games. Utah also knocked down double-digit threes in nine games this year (10 vs. South Dakota; 10 vs. UTSA; 14 at BYU; 11 vs. ORU; 11 vs. USC; 16 at Colorado; 11 at Washington; 10 vs. Arizona; 11 vs. Arizona State).
•   Utah broke the school record for single-season threes made with their five against UCLA (3/1). The Utes knocked down 253 through 31 games this season, beating the previous record of 239, set in 2018-19.
•   With Utah knocking down 239 three-pointers in 2018-19 and 253 in 2019-20, it was the first time since 2004-05 and 2005-06 that the Utes have had 200+ threes in back-to-back years. Utah scored 235 threes in 2004-05, which was a school record at the time, then breaking it in 2005-06 with 238.
•   Utah ranked third in the Pac-12 and No. 23 in Division I women's basketball in three-pointers made this season (253).
•   Utah ranked third in the Pac-12 and No. 27 in Division I women's basketball in three-pointers made per game (8.2).
•   Utah ranked third in the Pac-12 and No. 30 in Division I women's basketball in three-point percentage (.357).
•   Nine of the 12 players that saw action this year knocked down at least 10 threes each.
•   Utah's 16 made threes against Colorado (1/17/20) was a school record for single-game threes made, breaking the previous record of 15 set in 2004 vs. TCU.
•   Utah shot 69.6-percent from the arc against Colorado which ranked first in the Pac-12 and was tied for sixth nationally in single-game three-point percentage this season.
•   Utah's 16 made threes against Colorado was the second-most scored in a game in the Pac-12 this season (Oregon, 17 vs. Utah State).

The Utah underclassmen (freshman/sophomore) accounted for 1,551 of Utah's 2,110 total points (74%).
•   Utah's three leading scorers this season were underclassmen (

•   Utah's win over No. 21 Arizona State on Sunday, Feb. 23 is the second time the Utes have beat the Sun Devils when they are ranked in the Top 25 in the Roberts era.
•   Utah's win over the No. 6 Stanford Cardinal in 2019 ties for the highest ranked win in school history and was also the first win over Stanford in program history.

MAXWELL MAKING IT COUNT
Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention and All-Freshman first-team selection
Brynna Maxwell led the Utes this season in scoring (13.1 ppg) and three-pointers made (83). She led the Utes in scoring in 13 games and reached double-digits in 21, including in nine of the last 11 games.
•   Maxwell became the first Utah freshman to be named to the Pac-12 All-Conference team in any form (1st team, 2nd team, HM).
•   Her 83 made three-pointers was the most by a Ute since Iwalani Rodrigues knocked down 110 in 2010-11. It was also the most by a freshman since 1994-95 when Julie Krommenhoek knocked down 76, setting a new Utah freshman record for single-season threes with her 83.
•   Her 83 made threes is the first time since the 2013-14 season that a freshman has led the Pac-12 in buckets from beyond the arc (Sydney Wiese, Oregon State – 112 in 2013-14). It is also the first time since that season that the Pac-12 has had a freshman score 80-or-more threes with Wiese (112), Chrishae Rowe (Oregon, 81) and Kelsey Plum (81) all reaching the 80 threes mark as freshmen in 2013-14.
•   Maxwell finished the year ranked in the top-five all-time at Utah in single-season threes made, passing Kalee Whipple who had 77 in 2008-09.
•   Maxwell's 407 points this season is the first time since 2010-11 that a freshman has reached the 400-point mark (Michelle Plouffe, 2010-11, 480 points in 35 games).
•   Maxwell had 14 games this season with 15+ points, including in eight of the last 11 games.
•   Maxwell held Utah's top-five scoring numbers this season (27 at Cal; 24 at Colorado; 22 at Washington State, vs. UTSA & vs. Arizona).
•   In Maxwell's 20-point games, she hit a combined 24 three-pointers (6 vs. UTSA & Colorado; 5 vs. Arizona; 4 at Washington State; 3 vs. Cal).
•   Maxwell put up a career-high 27 points with a career-high 10 made field goals against Cal.
•   Four of Maxwell's five 20-point games came on the road or on a neutral court. Â
•   47.2% three-point percentage led the Pac-12, ranked No. 4 in the nation overall and was first among freshmen nationally.
•   Her 83 made threes led the Pac-12 overall and ranked No. 25 in the country. It also ranked third among freshmen nationally.
•   Her 2.7 threes per game ranked first in the Pac-12 and ranked No. 31 in the country, also ranking fourth nationally among freshmen.
•   She hit two-or-more threes in 24 of Utah's 31 games this season and was only held to zero threes twice (vs. Stanford, 2/14; at UCLA, 3/1).
•   Earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after her trip home to the state of Washington where she averaged 19.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in Utah's wins over Washington and Washington State on the road.

DRU'S DIMES
Sophomore
Dru Gylten led or tied for the lead in assists in 23 of the 30 games she appeared in this season and in 39 career games.
•   She had five or more assists in 18 games this season and in 40 in her career.
•   She finished the season tied for second in the Pac-12 in total assists (159) and finished third in assists per game (5.3).
•   She ranked 22nd nationally in total assists and 23rd in assists per game.
•   Gylten broke the 300-career assist mark against Arizona State (2/23). She has 323 through 60 career games. Her 300+ assists is the most by a sophomore in school history.
•   Gylten averaged 6.6 assists per game in the last seven games and had eight or more assists in three games during that span.
•   Gylten had three double-digit assist games this season and has five in her career, including her career-high 12 assists against Arizona State this season. In her double-digit assist games this season (10 vs. USC, 1/12; 10 at Colorado, 1/17; 12 vs. Arizona State, 2/23) she only gave up eight turnovers.
•   In her career-high assist outing against the Sun Devils on Feb. 23, she also put up 10 points for her second-career double-double (first double-double was vs. Arizona in 2019 – 10 points, 10 assists).
•   In the three game span of UCLA, USC and Colorado (1/10-1/17), Gylten accumulated 26 assists (8.7 assists per game in that span) and just six turnovers.

IN THE POST, ON THE BLOCK
Pac-12 All-Freshman honorable mention selection
Lola Pendande was a consistent threat for the Utes on both sides of the ball, leading Utah in field goal percentage (.576) and blocked shots (34).
•   After not getting a block in the first two games of the season, Pendande finished with at least one in 22 games. She had two-or-more in seven games this season, including her career-high four against Colorado and ORU.
•   She tied for sixth in the Pac-12 in total blocks (34) and ranked fifth in blocks per game (1.10).
•   Pendande reached double-digits in points in 15 games this season and led the Utes in rebounding in 16. She also led the Utes in double-doubles with three, recording 14 points and 12 rebounds against Texas Southern, followed by her career-high 21 points vs. Providence with 10 boards, ending the season with 10 rebounds and 16 points against Oregon in the Pac-12 quarterfinals.
ANDY'S NUMBERS
•   Sophomore
Andrea Torres reached double-digits in eight games this season.
•   Her 15 points against Arizona State (2/23) was a season-high and just three-points shy of tying her career-high of 18 that was set vs. Colorado last season.
•   Her 85.7-percent shooting against the Sun Devils tied for the highest shooting percentage by a Ute this season when making five or more field goals.
•   She had five or more rebounds in 14 games this season. She had a career-high nine against California (2/16).
MARTÍN FINDING HER RHYTHM
Kemery Martin led the Utes in scoring three times during Pac-12 play, all against Top 10 opponents (#6 Stanford, #3 Oregon, #8 Stanford).
•   She scored a career-high 15 points twice. She shot 6-for-10 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the three against Oregon (1/30), also knocking down six made field goals against Stanford (2/14). She scored eight of her 15 points against the Cardinals on Feb. 14 in the first quarter, shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from the floor and 2-for-2 from the arc.
•   Recorded 13 points against No. 6 Stanford on Jan. 26, shooting 5-of-8 from the floor and 2-of-4 from the arc.

STARTING RIGHT
After sitting out the first eight games of the season to finish recovering from her season-ending injury last year, senior
Daneesha Provo found her way back to the starting line-up, earning the starting nod in the last 16 games of the year.
•   She scored in double-digits in five games this season, including in back-to-back games against USC (17 pts) and Colorado (14 pts). She also scored 20 points against Washington State, her sixth-career 20-point game.
300 AND COUNTING
Head coach
Lynne Roberts claimed her 300th career win during the non-conference season against Weber State. She wrapped up her 18th season as a head coach and her fifth season at Utah (86-71) in 2019-20, recording an overall record of 307-246.
