SALT LAKE CITY – Utah's women's basketball head coach
Lynne Roberts announced the signing of Reese Ross and Daniela Hernández to the 2023-24 squad on National Signing Day. The addition of the two talented recruits adds to an already deep Ute squad.
"Not having any seniors on this year's roster, we wanted to be really selective in not only the talent 'fit' but also the overall program and culture fit," remarked head coach
Lynne Roberts. "Daniela and Reese are incredibly passionate about basketball, hard work, and winning. They're both excited to be Utes, and we can't wait to get them here."
Ross comes to the Utes after a successful career at St. Thomas More High School in Rapid City, S.D., while Hernández joins the Utes from Citizens High School. Ross was named First Team All-State in South Dakota following her junior year as she averaged 18.9 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.3 steals, and 2 blocks per game. Hernandez helped lead Canterbury Lions, her club team, to a third-place finish at the 2020 Spain Championships in the Canary Islands.
