The Utes will start the season at the Jon M. Huntsman Center. After going 16-0 at home during the 2022-23 season, Utah is looking to continue their home win streak.
PAC-12/SWAC LEGACY SERIES
Utah's game at Mississippi Valley State is part in the
Pac-12/SWAC Legacy Series, an educational and basketball scheduling partnership between the two conferences, to tip off the 2023-24 season.
The first-of-its-kind pact between Autonomy 5 and HBCU leagues was established to create both a forum for competition, as well as promotion and education around issues of anti-racism and social justice.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah has hosted two exhibition games prior to the official start of the season. First, Utah picked up a 96-44 win over Colorado State-Pueblo. Utah was led by Alissa Pili who had 20 points. Utah also hosted Northwest Nazarene and downed the Nighthawks 125-36. Reese Ross led the Utes with a double-double with 25 points and 13 rebounds.

Utah is returning all of last year's starting five including All-American and Pac-12 Player of the Year,
Alissa Pili as well as All-American
Gianna Kneepkens.Utah also brings back starters,
Jenna Johnson, Kennedy McQueen and
Isabel Palmer. Ines Vieira,
Lani White and
Dasia Young also return for the Utes. Utah welcomes three transfers in
Matyson Wilke,
Alyssa Blanck and
Samantha Crispe as well as two true freshman
Daniela Falcon Hernandez and
Reese Ross to this year's squad.
Pili has earned Preseason AP All-American Honorable Mention as well as been named to the Katrina McClain Preseason Watchlist and the WBCA Wade Trophy Preseason Watchlist. Kneepkens also raked in some preseason recognition as she was named to the Ann Meyers-Drysdale Watchlist.
IN THE RANKS
In the AP Top 25 Preseason Poll Utah was ranked in the No. 5 slot.This is the highest preseason ranking for Utah in school history and the first time the Utes have been ranked to start a season since 2005. Utah is one of six Pac-12 schools starting the season ranked in the Top 25.
HEAD COACH LYNNE ROBERTS
Roberts is starting her ninth season at the helm of the Utes. She has posted a 139-104 record in her time at Utah. She was dubbed the Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2023 after leading the team to its first ever Pac-12 regular season title. She led Utah to its second ever Sweet 16 appearance. Roberts also led the Utes to its highest AP Rankings in school history, including 12 weeks in the Top 10.
SCOUTING MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE
MVSU is coming off a 2-27 record during the 2022-23 season. The matchup with the Utes will be Mississippi Valley State's first game of the season. The Utes and Devilettes have met only once before, last season when Utah took down MVSU with a 109-42 final score.
NEXT UP
Utah will host South Carolina State, Thursday Nov. 9 at 7:00 p.m. before hitting the road the first time this season to Waco, Texas to take on Baylor Nov. 14.
