Lynne Roberts, Head Coach
On Utah's defensive performance
"I think we've improved defensively. Our effort has gotten better, our defensive system was different last year so there's been a learning curve and everyone understands it a little bit better. Everyone always talks about our offense because we like to go out and run but it's hard to run if you let the other team score. We try to get stops and then get out and run and score."
#22 Jenna Johnson, forward
On Utah's momentum
"Before the game we talked about how our defense will allow us to get out and run, which is what we like to do. We missed a couple shots right at the beginning but Kennady started hitting which sparked the rest of us. Everyone that came off the bench played with a lot of confidence and then we started rolling."
#24, Kennady McQueen, guard
On Utah's overall performance
"It's hard to get out and score if we let the other team score.I thought we came out in the first quarter and played really good defense which set the tone for the game. When we were getting stops and running we were playing loose and with the flow of the game .
NOTABLES
The Utes are now 10-2 overall on the season and have a 51-6 record over Weber State.
Young is the second Ute this season to breach 1,000 career points as Gianna Kneepkens hit the milestone earlier this season against Carroll College (Nov. 28).
Utah will start Pac-12 action Dec. 30 at Colorado and will follow that up with a trip to Arizona and Arizona State. Utah will return home to host Stanford on Jan. 12 and Cal on Jan. 14.
