Vringer, who
captured gold at the Canadian Championships back in November, earned her spot to represent Team Canada and is scheduled to run just over two hours ahead of Tank in the women's U20 6km race at 10:10 p.m. (MT) on Friday, Feb. 17.
"I am so excited to represent my country for the first time on the world stage!" Vringer post workout. "I'm very grateful for the opportunity to meet people from other countries and watch some of the best runners in the senior race – especially a fellow Ute in Poppy. I feel very prepared with all the help from my teammates and coaching staff at Utah."
Meanwhile, Tank and will represent Great Britain & Northern Ireland in the women's senior race (10km) – which will go off at 11:30 p.m. (MT) on Friday, Feb. 17. Tank essentially earned a spot to represent her country after
taking 13th at the European Cross Country Championships back on Dec. 11, 2022, in Turin, Italy. She was officially selected to represent her country earlier this month when
British Athletics named their squads for the world championships on Feb. 1.
"I've been working very hard across the winter, so it's very rewarding and an amazing opportunity to represent my county at such a prestigious event," said Tank after her training on Wednesday in Bathurst. "To know a fellow Ute is here too is a great feeling. I have so much love for my college team and I'm thrilled that Erin has the chance to compete here as well!"
