Roberts named to the Naismith Coach of the Year Late Season Watchlist

The Atlanta Tipoff Club announced 15 potential candidates for the 2023 Werner Ladder Naismith Women's College Coach of the Year award. Head Coach Lynne Roberts has been named to the Late Season Watchlist.Â
The Werner Ladder Naismith Coach of the Year award is presented annually to the most outstanding men's and women's college basketball coach who achieves tremendous on-court success.
The award will be narrowed to 10 semifinalists on Wednesday, March 8. The Fan Vote to help narrow the list down to the final honoree will open Tuesday, March 21, and close Tuesday, March 28. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, March 29, at the Women's Final Four in Dallas.
Roberts is in her eighth season at the helm of the Utes and has a 134-101 record. She has recorded back-to-back 20 win seasons after leading Utah to a 21-12 record and to the NCAA 2nd Round during 2021-22.Â
She's led No. 4/5 ranked Utah to a 22-2 overall record so far this season and a 12-2 Pac-12 record. The No. 4 ranking is the highest ranking in Utah history. Utah has been ranked for 14 weeks this season including seven consecutive weeks ranked in the top 10.
Utah is currently in the top 10 nationally in six major statistical categories.Â

Utah started the season with a 14-0 record and remain undefeated at home with a 12-0 record.Â
Utah is back in action with a Top-25 matchup as they take on Arizona, Friday, February 17 before taking on Arizona State, Sunday, February 19. Utah's final home games of the season will be next week Feb. 23 and 25 against Cal and Stanford.Â
