SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah Women's Basketball program landed three student-athletes on the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, with sophomores
Jenna Johnson,
Gianna Kneepkens and
Kennady McQueen being honored.
Academic All-District honorees will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, with first and second-team selections being announced in December. All three student-athletes are receiving their first Academic All-District recognition of their careers.
Johnson earned A grades in every class in either the spring or fall semester of 2022. This season, Johnson has started in every game and averages 12.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to help the Utes to a Pac-12 regular season title.Â
Kneepkens, earned A grades in every class in either the spring or fall semester of 2022. In 2022-23, Kneepkens has helped the Utes to a Pac-12 regular season title and been named to the Cheryl Miller Watchlist for top small forward of the year. She currently averages 15.3 points per game and leads the team in three-point shooting, averaging 41 percent with 62 total made.Â
McQueen earned a spot on the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll in 2021-22. This season, McQueen has helped the Utes to a Pac-12 regular season title by averaging 9.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. She has started in 27 of the team's 28 games and leads the team in steals with 31.Â

Utah hits the road to Las Vegas, Nev., for the Pac-12 Tournament. Utah enters the tournament as the No. 2 seed and is slated to play Thursday, March 2, at 7 p.m. MT. The Utes will take on the winner of a first-round game between No. 7 Washington State and No. 10 California.Â
