Pili Name to USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale Player of the Year Award Watchlist

SALT LAKE CITY —  Utah women's basketball's Alissa Pili has been named to the USBWA Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and All-America Watch List.
The 40 honored players for Ann Meyers Drysdale Award and All-America consideration will be placed on the association's annual awards ballot. The Ann Meyers Drysdale Award winner is to be announced at the NCAA Women's Final Four in Cleveland, from April 7-9. The formal presentation of the trophy will follow at the annual USBWA Awards Luncheon hosted by the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
Pili earned second-team All-America honors a season ago. She was among the USBWA's National Players of the Week in December and is averaging 21.7 points per game, 14th best in the nation. No player has scored more points against unbeaten South Carolina this season than Pili's 37 on Dec. 10.
She was one of eight on the list from the Pac-12.
She's averaging 21.6 points per game so far this season, ranking No. 13 in the NCAA. She's racked up 604 total points this season which is No. 8 in the NCAA. She is 29th in the nation in field goal percentage as she's shooting 55.8 percent this season. Pili is shooting 40.2 percent from the three this season. She's gone 115-140 from the free throw line for 82.1 percent. She's averaging 6.1 rebounds per game and racked up 66 total assists, 27 steals and 24 blocks.Â
Pili caught national attention after putting up a career-high 37 points against No. 1 South Carolina on Dec. 10. Against the Gamecocks, Pili shot 65.2 percent from the field going 15-23. She went 3-6 from beyond the arc and 4-4 from the free throw line. She also managed two rebounds, one assist and three steals.Â
Pili was a Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference selection for this season. She was recently ranked at No. 4 on ESPN's WBB Top 25 players list. She earned an honorable mention on the AP Preseason All-American list and was also named to the preseason Naismith Award Watchlist and Wade Trophy Preseason Watchlist.Â
Recently Pili was named to the Wooden Late Season Top 20 list as well as a Top 10 candidate for the Katrina McClain Award and a Top 20 Candidate for the Naismith Trophy.Â
Pili was a WBCA All-American last season and was named an AP and USBWA Second Team All-American. She was the 2023 Pac-12 Player of the Year and earned Pac-12 All-Conference honors.
She ended the 2022-23 season 16th in the nation in scoring averaging 20.7 points per game. She was also 14th in the nation in field goal percentage shooting 59 percent on the year. Pili averaged 5.6 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists per game. She also shot 42 percent from the three and 79 percent from the free throw line.Â
The Ann Meyers Drysdale Award is presented annually to the women's national player of the year by the USBWA. Named for the legendary UCLA guard, the award was first presented in the 1987-88 season and formally named in Meyers Drysdale's honor in the 2011-12 season. Ann Meyers Drysdale played at UCLA from 1974-78, which pre-dates the USBWA All-America selections. She was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993 and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 1999.
